My sweet little 4 year old friend Zoey spends her days with 8 of her cousins. They have had several babies join their family in the past few years, and Zoey kept wishing for her turn to be the big sister. Well, finally it came! Jessica and Drew planned for a natural birth and hired an awesome doula, Melanie, to support then during labor. When the big day arrived, Jessica stayed home for her early labor, and then I received a call around 4:30 a.m. to head to the hospital for Asher’s birth, and what a wonderful morning it was! From the very beginning, Jessica handled her labor like a champ! She was so focused, so relaxed, and totally committed to the labor process. She worked through lots of contractions, then transition, and then birthed 8 lb. 15 oz. Asher Neil into the world at 6:44 am. Asher is a very blessed baby, two of his aunts were there to witness his birth, and Jessica was just instantly in love with him! I caught Drew wiping a couple tears…. what a proud and loving daddy, and I could tell he really admired Jessica’s strength through that labor! Within a couple hours, big sister Zoey arrived to get a peek at her little baby brother, and it was precious! She even got to show him off the the 8 cousins who showed up soon thereafter! Jessica and Drew, you are going to treasure watching your two children love each other. It was my sincere privilege to be able to capture Asher’s birth, thank you for inviting me!
