Some of my life’s defining moments: the moment I knew he was “the one”…. saying, “I do,”… seeing that pink line appear… the moment I saw, touched, held my first baby… my second… my third… my fourth. I am passionate about remembering, celebrating and treasuring these moments that define our lives.

Hi, I’m Jen. I am a wife, a mom of four, a photographer. Those closest to me know me as creative, friendly, talkative and sometimes scatterbrained. When I am not taking pictures, I can usually be found cleaning, cooking, homeschooling my four kids, exercising (or attempting to avoid it!), volunteering, reading, or talking. My passion for birth photography began after the birth of my first daughter, Abbie. My friend Sarah was there when Abbie was born, and she took some pictures (back in the days before I had a digital camera!). I will never forget when I got that envelope full of prints back and looked through it. There was a photo of the doctor holding Abbie up when she was born, and it was the EXACT moment that I first laid eyes on my baby. An overwhelming rush of emotion flooded me as I fully remembered that amazing moment. Yes, that photo is just an image on a piece of paper, but to me it is priceless.

I have since been blessed with a total of four children. I have some photos from each of their births that are very special to me, but none that quite capture the moment the way this one did. I think this is because I didn’t have anyone at the other births whose only “job” was photography. Soon after Abbie was born, I had the opportunity to be labor support/photographer for a dear friend, and I have never looked back. I love everything about being a birth photographer… sharing in such special moments with families, witnessing the second a newborn baby takes his/her first breath, capturing the look on mom and dad’s faces as they see and hold their baby for the first time, celebrating life… it never gets old, each and every birth is a miracle.
